Alfons Sauquet

Prof. Alfons Sauquet has served as Global Dean of ESADE Business and Law School until September 2016.  Previously he served as Dean of the Business School, as Vice-Dean of Research and Knowledge and Director of University Programmes of the Business School.
Dr. Sauquet has a doctorate and a master by Columbia University, MBA from ESADE and degrees in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of Barcelona. Currently holds a chair on Learning at the Universidad Ramon Llull in Barcelona. His course “Knowledge and Management” was awarded CEMS course of the Year in 2007.
He has published articles and books on Learning and Innovation. He has developed and managed EU funded research projects on Knowledge & Innovation under FP5, FP6, FP7.  He was principal researcher and founder of the research group GRACO. Lately he edited the volume "Business Schools and their contribution to Society".  He has served in the editorial board of journals such as the European Business Forum, Human Resource Development International, and Human Resource Management. He has served as elected member in the governing Board of the European Institute of Technology (EiT), the largest funded European initiative on education and research for Innovation.
He has been contributing as guest speaker in different forums and for diverse organizations such as the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), American Association of Collegiate Schhols of Business (AACSB) CLADEA, UNESCO and UNDP among others. To date, he has the chaired board of directors of GMAC and In 2014 he was elected President and Chair of  the board of DirectorsABIS (Academy for Business in Society), a Brussels based NGO which promotes research and mainstreaming sustainability in business education.
Currently, he is associate director at EFMD Quality Services and Director of EDAF (Deans across Frontiers) an initiative to promote quality in Business education among schools in developing contexts.
